Valerie Farber is a Brooklyn-based vocalist with an incurable jazz soul. Trained classically on both voice and violin and fed a steady diet of bluegrass at home, her interest in music was developed early as a young girl . It wasn’t until she was introduced to jazz that she fell head over heels in love.
True to her muse, Valerie has a style driven by experimentation yet grounded in storytelling. Her recent project, the Song Sonnet, was created to highlight unique points of view, hidden voices, and sweet celebrations through narrative across a series of songs.
Valerie has collaborated and performed with musicians, DJs, and performance artists throughout North America and Europe. Up until 2020, she was a regular at Bar Next Door in the West Village and would appear in house concerts and private events all along the east coast.
You can currently find Valerie writing new music, learning the baritone ukulele, and collaborating with friends on small stages around Brooklyn.
